Without a summer job in 1965 Gene planned on working at The University of Wisconsin as Community Affairs Director for  WUMW-fm/tv.
As he designed a program guide, his phone rang, he answered and then flew out to NYC to audition for what he thought was $2.50 per hour job.
Well...average weekly pay back then was $100, but Gene averaged over $1,300 and earned title of highest paid in his class of  '67.
Paid to have fun and entertain nearly 8 million fair-goers filling Florida's Amphitheatre increased World's Fair revenues by $82 million dollars.
One year earlier, very few people crossed a bridge to spend on amusements creating first year deficits.
Water Skiers brought over, any and everybody, celebrity or not, where they spent an average $15.
